Ferrari World!!

Dear Ferrari and theme park enthusists. It seems that Ferrari and some very talented people are on the verge of completing a project no other car manufacturer has been able to do on such a large scale. For those of you not familiar, in 2010 Ferrari plans to open the world's FIRST car themed amusement park in Abu Dhabi. I have seen the preview of the park and it is spectacular, as fitting for a car maker such as Ferrari. For those of you who wish to be awed, please follow by clicking the link below.

Ferrari to Leave F1 in 2010!!!

Unfortunately, according to several sources, including TSN, F1 web site and Ferrari's own web site. We may not have a F1 team for next season in 2010. Many sources say that the budget cap that the FIA want to activate next season will make the sport two tiered and not follow the orginal asparations which it was founded. Many other teams, like BMW Sauber and Toyota have also expressed disinterest in the cap. What is F1 truly about we must ask ourselves. It has always been the top motor racing venue and all those who want to participate should realize that F1 is about becoming the best through technological advancement. That entails money in my books. Please write your comments, as I am sure others must feel the same, or not.

Oregon trooper reels in line of Ferraris, Lamborghini

From: CNN.com

Story Highlights

  • * Police: 6 exotic cars, mostly Ferraris, pulled over "like good little soldiers"
    * Polite drivers reportedly told police they were making
    annual road trip
    * Fine for speed racing is $627, police say
    * Lamborghini with tag "BADBUL" pulled over again later in
    day, police say

So said Oregon State Senior Trooper David Petersen after he was able to catch up with six exotic sports cars on a stretch of Highway 18 near Grand Ronde on Thursday, according to a news release.
Perhaps a more amazing feat was that he stopped all the cars simultaneously.
"They just were all good little soldiers and pulled right over," Oregon State Police spokesman Lt. Gregg Hastings told CNN.
One of the drivers was later cited again on a different highway.
The drivers of the cars -- consisting of Ferraris, a Lamborghini and an Acura NSX -- told Petersen they were part of a group of 20 similar cars making an annual road trip, the news release said.
They were all cordial and cooperative, and were cited with speed racing, a class A traffic violation that can command a fine of $627, Hastings said.
After receiving reports Thursday morning that several sports cars were speeding and passing in no-pass zones west of Grand Ronde, Petersen set up east of the casino town, near McMinnville, and waited.
Five of the cars soon blew past him, running about 100 mph in a 55-mph zone, Hastings said. As Petersen pulled onto Highway 18 in pursuit, a sixth car passed him.
"I guess when you're going too fast, you're in a rock and a hard place," Hastings said.
Highway 18 runs from Dayton, Oregon, in the Willamette Valley to the Pacific coast. The stretch where the cars were cited is considered particularly dangerous and the Oregon Department of Transportation provides additional funding to enforce traffic laws there, Hastings said.
About two hours after the incident, another trooper pulled over the Lamborghini from the group in Multnomah Falls, about 90 miles east. The driver of the car, which bore the the license plate "BADBUL," was cited for driving 90 in a 65-mph zone, according to a news release.

Sorry for the Confusion...

Hi everyone,

It has come to my attention that some folks believe that this Blog is associated to the FCA.   It is not, this is my personal Blog which I have created to keep in touch with friends that I have met over the years who share the passion of owning a Ferrari as I do.

I am a member of the FCA as many of you are and I welcome other FCA members to join in and contribute to this Blog - sharing the same passion as mine.

Sorry for the confusion we may have caused.

First Drive - May 16th.

Hi everyone,

How does May 16th sound for our first drive of 09 ?

I am thinking about meeting up in Vaughan, ON - then we drive up to Orangeville area and grab a bite to eat at a nice little resteraunt that I found.

Let me know your thoughts - I will blast an email out this weekend to everyone as well.

Also important note - please comment back and let me know which car you have - I am trying to keep an accurate list of who drives what!

FCA - Track Day - May 21st - Time is Running Out !

Please note that our track event, at Mosport, will occur on May 21, 2009.  Although our early registration period is over, we still need you to register as soon as possible.  Time is running out!
Registration at the track will be extremely difficult, due to a minimum number of people on the track team. Special thanks to all who have registered up to this point.  We are welcoming non-members for this event.

I would appreciate it if everyone who intends to come will please send in their registration forms this week, if at all possible.
It will be more difficult to plan for the appropriate number of participants without this significant act.

We have a number of sponsors for our track event, and it would be great to show them some participation as they are supporting our event:

            Splashworks is running the detailing workshop;
            Garage Living will display a variety of garage renovation options, and has graciously provided $1000 coupons toward renovation packages;
            Sunoco has provided free gas coupons;
            Ferrari of Ontario will be providing technical support at the track.

We have created the introductory group, VIA, to attract members interested in experiencing the track in a very controlled and safe fashion;  This is a beautiful way to exercise your car without worrying about city streets!
We have kept the traditional school format for members who prefer to take part in the school;
We have created a lapping group with more track time, PILOTI, for those members qualified to run without an instructor. (no classroom sessions)
There are two classroom sessions in the morning for VIA and School groups.  The afternoons are free
We have added additional activities such as the auto detailing workshop and mini-concourse.

All details about the track event, forms, sponsors and downloads, are available at www.myferrariclub.com  .  Feel free to contact me if there are any questions.

Best regards,

Evan Friedman, Track Chair

E-Mail Drive Alerts / Information.

I would encourage everyone to please fill out the form on the left with your e-mail address so we can compile an accurate e-mail distribution list to advise everyone of drives / events, etc.   This is by far the easiest way to get the word out.

Thanks,

Its 2009 and Spring is around the corner...

Hi everyone - Tony here.

Its 2009 and spring is around the corner.

Last year we attempted to use Facebook Group's to communicate with everyone regarding our drives, posting pics and keeping everyone in the loop of things. It didn't go very well - looks like not everyone uses Facebook. So for 09, lets Blog!

This is my first attempt at making a Blog - so please be kind :).

I am emailing our group and if you can please signup (follow) to the blog and spread the word around incase I missed anyone. I would like to use this as a means of keeping everyone in the loop of our drives (by the way the fall Grand Turismo drive was great - what a turn out, FCA events, pics, etc.

Anyways - enough with my rant. Signup, contribute and lets see where this thing goes.

Tony.
