Ferrari to Leave F1 in 2010!!!

Unfortunately, according to several sources, including TSN, F1 web site and Ferrari's own web site. We may not have a F1 team for next season in 2010. Many sources say that the budget cap that the FIA want to activate next season will make the sport two tiered and not follow the orginal asparations which it was founded. Many other teams, like BMW Sauber and Toyota have also expressed disinterest in the cap. What is F1 truly about we must ask ourselves. It has always been the top motor racing venue and all those who want to participate should realize that F1 is about becoming the best through technological advancement. That entails money in my books. Please write your comments, as I am sure others must feel the same, or not.

LONDON, May 13 (UPI) -- Renault has joined Ferrari in pulling out of the Formula One auto racing series because of a potential $60 million budget cap in 2010, the BBC said.

Ferrari officials were reported to be reconsidering Wednesday, about 24 hours after their decision, because it said on the F1 Web site first quarter results for 2009 were in line with the record levels reached in 2008.

Ferrari added the sport's governing body FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) is making decisions of a serious nature and had refused to effectively reach an understanding with constructors and teams.

"If it really was like that, then I have to say that our cars will race in other competitions, and I am absolutely convinced about that they will find the enthusiasm and passion of millions of fans," Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo told the BBC Tuesday.

"Renault has always considered Formula One the pinnacle of motor sport," Renault team president Bernard Rey said in a statement.

  2. I don't think it will ever happen--all politics, and it will all get sorted out. I am really fed up with politics & Bernie in F1 though & if Ferrari were to pull out I would not follow F1 anymore. Lets get back to racing & quit changing the rules.
